Grey Moons: New Watercolor Work from Claire Woods
For the month of March, Gather is once again thrilled to share with you the work of local Bloomington artist Claire Woods. Claire is best known around town as being the chalkboard artist that blesses The Green Nursery sandwich board each week. She’s also been known to work with expectant mothers, both at The Green Nursery and as a doula. Claire’s work fits perfectly inside a nursery or over your fireplace.
You’re sure to find a piece (or three) that you can’t live without.
Claire Woods is an artist that was born and raised in the heart of the Midwest. Her art often depicts her feelings about our connection to the earth and the simplistic beautify of the outdoors. Growing up in a small Midwestern town, she spent her summers immersed in gardens, flowers, corn fields, stars, and lakes. She works predominantly in painting with watercolors and ink. Her love of art comes from hours spent working alongside her mother in the garden and father painting and hand-lettering. She immerses herself in the woods and emerges with colorful, vivid, creative designs.
Visit us on First Friday for Gallery Walk in March on Friday, March 3rd from 5-8pm for our opening reception to meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments. Works will remain on display at Gather throughout the month of March. (Gather hours: Tues – Fri 11-5, Sat 10-5, Sun 12-4).
Gather is a locally owned brick and mortar showcasing the work and art of over 175 local and regional artists and makers. Each First Friday we host an opening reception for our most recent Gallery exhibition and two times per month we host classes and workshops in the back of our shop.
