TItle: Unusually Natural: Portraits by Eduardo Torres
Description: Eduardo is a computational neuroscientist, originally from Venezuela. He has been traveling for the past 14 years and is currently living in Bloomington. His interest is in understanding complex systems using minimal models. This photographic project is a study of expressions of feminine beauty, in their most essential, raw, and natural form — of love, affection, intimacy. All within their specific contexts: the texture of their skin, their constellation of freckles, the entanglement of their hair, the geometry of their bodies and dynamics of their mannerisms. Above all, this is a study of the process of making portraits — which he describes as a certain falling in love.
Opening: April 3 from 5-8:30

Kellie Margaret Kuratko
Kellie M. Kuratko is a fine art photographer. Her main focus is digital photography with the use of her own personal home videos. Kellie’s photographic work emphasizes the idea of “Memory Distortion” through the abstract qualities of current technology. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Photography in the spring of 2012 from Ball State University. Kellie was honored by having two of her photographic prints selected to appear in the 76th annual Art Show at Ball State’s Art Museum where only ten photographic works earned spots in the show that featured over 100 works of art. She was the recipient of the 2011 Excellence in Photography Award. Two of Kellie’s special art photography pieces were purchased and reside as permanent collections at the Ball State University Pittenger Student Center and the Indiana University Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Since she loves capturing memories for people and taking beautiful fine art photographs, Kellie’s goals include setting up her own photographic art studio in the near future.
